Mission Statement:

Leading improvement in maths education across Leicester, Leicestershire, North Northamptonshire and Rutland.

Vision Statement

We aspire to cultivate a culture of excellence in mathematics education.  Every student, regardless of background or need, develops deep knowledge, confidence, and positive dispositions and behaviours in mathematics.  By facilitating collaborative experiences to develop subject knowledge and pedagogy, our Local Leaders of Mathematics Education (LLME) leverage their expertise to empower educators to share practice and support their students to be ready to progress to their next stage of learning.  As teachers grow in confidence and develop their skills, we provide opportunities for them to join and strengthen our LLME community.  Through the lens of a consistent, mastery approach, we partner with institutions and leadership to identify and address local needs.  Ongoing reflection of curriculum coherence and systems, supports implementation cycles as the hub and schools work together to overcome challenges and evaluate impact.  Our commitment to fostering environments and cultures of continuous professional development within schools, ensures sustained growth and achievement in mathematics.

 

Build Relationships

We aim to create a supportive environment, where participants can talk and collaborate openly and honestly.  Our goal is to facilitate a network between education settings, with the Maths Hub working as an ongoing – trusted – support partner.

Research informed

We want to build confidence and accessibility around the analytical use of research in education.  Through shared practice and open discussion, our community aims to inspire changes and inform refinement to the effective teaching and learning of mathematics.

Learners as well as leaders

Our community is inclusive for all learners, and their experiences.  We model learning together and the importance of continual development in mathematical knowledge and pedagogical understanding.  We aim to empower others to lead as learners in their own setting.

Responsive

By listening to our partners, and working with the Maths Hub network, we aim to respond to the changing needs in mathematics education.  We look to adapt our activity to reflect local challenges and offer bespoke support to flexibly meet the unique contexts of education settings and their learners across our region.
