Secondary Maths Subject Leaders Community

A CPD community designed specifically for secondary heads of maths

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

This year, our growing community of local subject leaders will work collaboratively to further develop coherence across their mathematics curriculum. Session one explores conceptual coherence, supporting leaders to reflect on the implementation of a forward-thinking, connected learning sequence. Sessions two and three explore representational and linguistic coherence, considering the impact of precise language and chosen representations on students' understanding. Throughout, leaders will have dedicated time to connect with peers, address key issues in Maths leadership, and translate these insights into practical implementation plans for their own contexts.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • You will promote and develop a shared vision, culture and set of principles for teaching and learning in maths
  • You will ensure coherence in the curriculum and provide support for teaching for mastery across the department
  • You and your department will establish collaborative ways of working to support ongoing developments
  • You will develop in your ability to lead change
