ECT Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules

 

The ECT Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules are underpinned by the Early Career Framework and the Five Big Ideas in Teaching for Mastery. They are designed to complement the statutory ECF offer by supporting you to develop deeper mathematical subject and pedagogical expertise.

The programme offers flexible, self-paced professional development resources that can be accessed in any order, allowing you to engage with the modules in a way that suits your context and professional needs. Watch the video below to find out more.

Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics (SKTM) ECT Programmes 

 

If you are in your second or third year of teaching, the SKTM programmes for ECTs offer an opportunity to deepen your understanding of teaching for mastery. They create a space to learn collaboratively with other teachers and to reflect on your classroom practice, while continuing to develop your mathematics-specific subject and pedagogical expertise.

The offer provided by the Maths Hub for ECTs is designed to complement the statutory ECTE training programme, not to replace any part of it. ECT mentors may also access the ECT Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules if they wish, using the form linked below.
