ITE Units: Teaching for Mastery
in Mathematics
At the Maths Hub, we’d like to signpost the six NCETM professional development units for ITT providers and tutors to support the development of trainees’ understanding of teaching for mastery in mathematics.
The units introduce the principles of teaching for mastery and the Five Big Ideas, and include ready-to-use slides, session notes and handouts to support delivery across a sequence of sessions. They are designed to complement existing ITT programmes and support trainees to explore key ideas, reflect on practice, and begin planning their own lesson activities.
If you would like to discuss how the Maths Hub can work in partnership with you locally, or explore how we can support connection, alignment and collaboration across the region, please contact us at - [email protected]
